Past Events 
February 2012 - 'Be My Violetine'

Local artist, Megan Cosby and Violet Boutique teamed up to support Art with a Heart on Friday, February 10th from 
5 pm to 9 pm at Violet Boutique in 5 Points. 10% of the evening's proceeds were donated to Art with a Heart.
January 2012 - Haircuts for a Cause

Local business owner and artist, Jami Childers hosted an event to support Art with a Heart. Haircuts, silent auctions of art and in-kind donations raised over $1,000.00 to support us. The art studio gallery focused on patient-artists’ work for January and February. We thank Jami, her community of artists and barbershop clients for their donations.

The first annual Paint the Town! fundraiser was a true success for Art with a Heart. Over 200 patrons celebrated our mission with an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing. We raised over $26,000.  We would like thank everyone for this tremendous gift that will allow our programs to continue serving thousands of patients and families.  Thank you to our sponsors and wonderful fundraising committee.

August 2012 - Remembrance Weekend

The annual Remembrance Weekend hosted by The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation was held August 4th at The World Golf Village.

Over 30 families who have lost a child to cancer participated in a group art project designed and facilitated by Art with a Heart in Healthcare. The piece was one of remembrance, with families creating a mobile representing a lost loved one to cancer.

We were joined by volunteers, Ross Bratlee, Tracie Thornton, Sujin Yu, Lisa Ullmann, Sarah Ussery, Cheryl Borja, Pati Merrill, Guy Cuddihee, Jerry Bergesen, Kelsi Bergesen, and Bradi Bergesen.

September - November 2012 - "In this Moment" 

MOCA Jacksonville -  A photography exhibition featuring the work of more than 20 talented patient artists from Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. 
September - November 2013 - "Reflections" 

MOCA Jacksonville -  A glance into the experiences of more than 25 young patient artists at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL through a photography exhibition. 
July 2013 - Remembrance Weekend

The annual Remembrance Weekend hosted by The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation was held July 27th at The World Golf Village.

Over 30 families who have lost a child to cancer participated in a group art project designed and facilitated by Art with a Heart in Healthcare. The piece was one of remembrance, with each family member creating an original painted and collaged art piece on canvas representing a lost loved one to cancer. 

Musical inspiration throughout the session was performed by Ajamu Mutima, who played traditional African instruments and original songs to facilitate an environment of healing, furthering the creative process to honor their loved ones.

We were joined by volunteers, Josh Bergesen, Ajamu Mutima, Ross Bratlee, Jerry Bergesen, Lori Presto, Tracie Thornton, Cheryl Borja, Kelsi Bergesen and photographer Laird.

Unmasked is an exhibition presented by Art with a Heart in Healthcare. Patients in the program collaborated with an artist-in-residence who brings out their natural talents and expands their art-making skills while promoting self-confidence and self-awareness during their hospital experience. This program is sponsored by First Tennessee Foundation.​

"Flags of Healing" Remembrance was hosted at the World Golf Village by The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation. We had 35 families with a total of 110 family members and 8 new families this year. Based on a Tibetan prayers, the flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The flags, or wishes, were dispersed into the air to spread goodwill and compassion for all. They are now considered a permanent part of the universe.
